The global leader in the rental of power and heating and cooling, Aggreko, have continued their winning partnership with European Tour star Jordan Smith. The relationship between the Wiltshire-born golfer and the energy specialist initiated midway through Jordan’s debut season on the European Tour and helped the 25-year-old to even loftier heights in the second half of the year.
Less than one month after the commencement of the partnership, Jordan celebrated his maiden European Tour victory in a nail-biting play-off victory over Alexander Levy. This success brought the young Englishman his Major debut at the US PGA Championship where Jordan exceeded all expectations as he recorded a top-ten finish and ended the week as the highest-placed Brit.
Further impressive performances followed through the latter stages of the season as Smith ended the year placed 24th on the season-ending Race to Dubai Order of Merit. Backed by the continued support of Aggreko, Jordan feels optimistic of what can be achieved in 2018.
“It has been a whirlwind first year on the European Tour for me. Securing Aggreko’s support midway through the season came as an added shot of confidence for me. I felt at home on the Tour but attracting a recognisable brand like Aggreko just proved further to me that the sky really was the limit.”
“I will always remember having all their staff’s support at the US PGA at Quail Hollow during my Major debut and I’m delighted to continue working with them moving forward. Last year was fantastic but my attention has already turned to 2018 as I want to keep improving and challenging for titles.”
Robert Wells, Managing Director of Aggreko Event Services, has been delighted with how the partnership has developed so far and is excited at what lies ahead for both parties.
“I can assure you that on so many levels this is a fantastic partnership for Aggreko with a very talented, engaging and genuine talent who has a great team behind him. It is very rare in this world that things work out quite so perfectly with Jordan enjoying such incredible success immediately after we were able to announce our partnership.”
“2018 promises to be a very exciting year for Aggreko and Jordan’s participation on the European Tour is part of that. We wish him all the best as we look to enjoy further success working together.”
Jordan is in action this week at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and his 2018 calendar already includes Major appearances at The 147th Open Championship and the US PGA Championship.
