This weekend will see Tom Blomqvist return to action in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportcars Championship, as he takes on round four of this year's championship in the Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio.
The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship heads to the Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio this weekend as the race marks the first of six two-hour and 40-minute races on the 12-race WeatherTech Championship calendar.
Tom will once again be racing in the Team RLLR #25 BMW M8 GTE with Connor De Phillippi for this weekend’s racing, as the duo look to replicate the team’s podium-earning performance from Mid-Ohio last season.
Racing will take place at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, around the 2.4-mile circuit, which will present Tom with a different challenge compared to his previous two outings in the IMSA Championship.
Currently sitting in sixteenth position in the championship, after missing the first round of racing, Tom will once again be looking to move up in the standings with another positive performance this weekend.
Excited to be returning to his IMSA duties, the Integro ambassador added:
“It will be good to get back out on track again this weekend. Long Beach was a tough race, but all of us in the team are feeling much more confident about the car going into this weekend's action.”
“The performances we’ve put in so far this year have been strong, and now we’re heading to a track that suits our package and hopefully we can be challenging at the top end of the field for the podium positions.”
Action will begin for Tom with qualifying at 17:05 (BST) on Saturday 4th May. The two-hour forty-minute is then scheduled for Sunday at 18:30.
