European Tour star Alexander Björk & MB Partners drive forward in 2018

18th December 2017

MB Partners are delighted to announce the signing of Swedish golfing star, Alexander Björk, on a multi-year management agreement. The 27-year-old joins the company fresh off the back of an excellent breakthrough year on the European Tour where he finished the season placed in 43rd on the Race to Dubai rankings.

An impressive year on the Challenge Tour in 2016 ensured the Swedish talent made the step up to Europe’s premier tour this year. Wasting little time in making an impact, Björk recorded a top-ten finish in just the third event of the year, the BMW SA Open, to truly mark his arrival on the elite golfing scene.

The Swede’s performances went from strength to strength across the year, notching eleven top-twenty finishes and he also enjoyed a memorable Major debut at the 146th Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. Heading into the new year, Alexander has already got his 2018 season off to an excellent start by recording a career-high T2 finish at the UBS Hong Kong Open just a fortnight ago.

Looking to build on an imperious calendar year of performances, Alexander is excited about the journey ahead working alongside the team at MB Partners.

“The last couple of seasons have been really strong ones for me and I’m confident that my second year on the European Tour can be even better. Surrounding yourself with the right people is massively important to any sportsperson and I am no different, which is why I am delighted to be joining the team at MB Partners.”

Head of Golf at MB Partners, Duncan Maxim, is delighted to be working with an immensely talented player who he has admired for a long time.

“Alexander is a massive talent and he represents a fantastic addition to our golfing client-base. It was no surprise to me that he has made such an immediate impact on the European Tour. What is most exciting though, is that there is still plenty more to come and we are excited to be working with Alexander to help him achieve his immediate and long-term goals within the game.”

MB Partners CEO, Mark Blundell, is excited to welcome Alexander to the company’s golfing roster and feels the signing illustrates the team’s continued success.

“We are delighted to welcome Alexander to our portfolio of professional golfers and are majorly excited about what we can achieve together. The past few years have been very successful for our golfing division and we all deserve great credit for that – signing a talent like Alexander is further proof of this.”
