11th April 2019

This weekend will see Joseph Katsantonis contest the opening round of the 2019 Motorsport UK IAME Cadet Karting Championship at the Trent Valley Kart Club, PFi Circuit in Grantham.

The talented young karter is looking forward to finally getting his season in the IAME Cadet class underway this weekend. 2018 saw Joseph competing in a number of IKR Club Rounds as well as MSA Club Rounds, one year ahead of schedule, and now 2019 will see Joseph competing in his first full season in the IAME Cadet class.

Katsantonis will be racing with Paul Munn Racing, for his 2019 IAME cadet campaign and will line up against a strong field containing 37 other karters for the opening round of the championship this weekend. The age group for IAME cadet is 8 to 13 so Joseph will be racing again some very strong and much more experienced competitors.

The IAME Championship offers young karters a strong gateway through the karting ranks, as a prominent British Championship class since 2013, this season will present a strong opportunity for 8-year-old, Katsantonis to continue to develop his promising karting career.

The opening round of the season will see Katsantois race at the Trent Valley Kart Club PFi. The circuit is regarded as the UK’s premier karting facility, having hosted European and World Championship rounds as well as British Championships and club events.

Excited to get his season underway, Joseph is delighted to get his campaign underway this weekend.

“I’m really looking forward to this weekend and I can’t wait for things to get underway. I hope that I’ll be able to gain a lot more experience in my first full season in IAME and hopefully this will help me for the future!”

Barry Mears, MB Partners Motorsport Manager, is also excited to see Joseph back in action.

“We’re all really excited to see Joseph in the British IAME Cadet Championship series this year. Joseph is an exciting young talent but at 8 years old the objective for the season is to have fun and to learn and develop his skills ready for the years ahead.
