MB Partners secures support from Gratte Brothers Group for Jordan Smith

24th February 2015

MB Partners has secured a partnership deal for newly-turned golf professional, Jordan Smith, with Gratte Brothers Group, one of the UK’s leading independently owned building services companies.
The 22-year-old from Calne, Wiltshire, turned professional last year after a highly successful amateur career during which he represented Great Britain and Ireland in the 2013 Walker Cup. The announcement of Jordan’s commercial partnership with Gratte Brothers Group coincides with a successful second event of his professional career with a superb tied ninth place finish in the Sunshine Tour Dimension-Data Pro Am held at Fancourt, South Africa last week.
Jordan says of his tie-up with Gratte Brothers Group, “It’s great to be starting my professional career with the support of Gratte Brothers Group and I aim to be a fitting ambassador for the company on the fairway and off it.”
Ian Gratte, Managing Director, Gratte Brothers Group adds, “I was introduced to Jordan by MB Partners CEO, Mark Blundell and admired Jordan’s approach to his golf and dedication to his career. Our commercial partnership with Jordan will benefit our company and we hope that it will also give Jordan a secure foundation as he sets out on his professional career.”
Despite having only picked up a golf club eight years ago, Jordan was ranked 12th in the World Amateur rankings in 2014. He secured his place in the England squad for the past two years, finishing second in the Chiberta Grand Prix in 2013 and narrowly missing the 2012 English Amateur Championships in the semi-final, having led the field in the qualifying stages. In 2014 Jordan won the prestigious Hampshire Hog with rounds of 68 and 69 in his debut, joining the likes of Justin Rose and Sandy Lyle as past winners.
MB Partners was launched in 2013 with former Formula One and Indycar driver, Mark Blundell joining forces with high profile businessman, Theo Paphitis and Ian Childs, a long-time partner of Theo’s in two sports media companies.
The company has brought together a dynamic team of people that have set new standards in the sector, providing a turnkey service for elite sportsmen and women as well as rights holders focusing on management, marketing, branding, PR and sponsorship.
