Seve Benson

Back to Golf

The 28-year-old from Guildford, Surrey, has been successful from a young age and enjoyed a stellar amateur career before progressing through the professional ranks to reach the European Tour.

A challenging 2017 season saw Seve's year be plagued with a historic bag injury that kept him sidelined for the majority of 2010/11. Battling through the pain in the early stages of 2017, Seve made the call to enter rehabilitation and has undergone intensive physiotherapy to be fully fit for the 2018 season as he enters the Challenge Tour.

Seve now boasts over 150 tournament appearances on the European Tour and continues to go from strength to strength. Most recently he finished T22 in the 2016 BMW PGA Championship which backed up earlier top twenty finishes in the Trophee Hassan II and the Shenzhen International.

Seve kept his card comfortably in 2014, thanks largely to a tied third place finish at the Trophée Hassan II in Morocco. A successful 2015 season was highlighted with a high finish in the Nordea Masters.

A back injury blighted much of 2010 and 2011, so he was back on the Challenge Tour in 2012, where he won the Barclays Kenya Open. He notched four top ten finishes in 2013 to end the season inside the top 100 of The Race to Dubai for the first time.

He also won the Ypsilon Golf Challenge, came second in the Scottish Challenge and fifth in the Il Club Colombia Masters in 2008. He then graduated to the European Tour in 2009 where he came 17th in the JBWere Masters.

In 2008, Seve won his first professional tournament, taking the Wensum Valley International Open on the PGA EuroPro Tour. He won two Challenge Tour events later in the year, setting a course record with a 62 in the third round on the way to winning the Piemonte Open.

While still an amateur, he went on to make the cut at each of those countries professional championships. Seve's Amateur career also saw him playing on the English Golf Union's Elite A Squad as an amateur and winning the Russian and Qatar amateur open championships, as well as the 2004 National Championship as a member of the Surrey Team.
