Tom Blomqvist heads to Portgual this weekend for the second round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, with the series visiting the Portimão circuit for the very first time.

Last time out at Spa-Francorchamps, Tom and his #28 JOTA LMP2 team mates Sean Gelael and Stoffel Vandoorne fought valiantly to claim a podium finish with third place in class.
The team will look to build on that positive start to the season and climb further up the order in Portugal. Located in the heart of the Algarve region in southern Portugal, the 4.684km Portimão circuit has become a firm favourite amongst drivers for its challenging nature and striking elevation changes.
“I can’t wait to get the weekend started,” Tom said. “We knew we had the pace for a strong performance in Belgium and see no reason why we can’t carry that on here. As a team, we’re firing on all cylinders and working at a really high level. We’re all really confident that we can bring home a result to match that. Portimão is a really unique circuit with elevation changes you rarely see at other tracks so I think it’s going to be a really exciting few days of action.”
The weekend begins on Friday afternoon with Free Practice at 15:00 followed by two further Free Practice sessions on Saturday at 09:35 and 14:00. The all-important Qualifying session gets underway from 18:00 on Saturday evening with the eight-hour race set to begin at 11:00 on Sunday morning.
