Brace of points finishes for Kanato Le at Croft

CROFT

ROKiT BRITISH FORMULA 4 CHAMPIONSHIP - ROUND SEVEN

29-30 JULY 2023

  • Kanato Le secured a brace of valuable points finishes in round seven of the ROKiT British F4 championship at Croft Circuit as the Japanese youngster continues his maiden single-seater season.

  • In the opening action on Saturday morning, Kanato would qualify P8 for the opening race of the weekend with his second fastest time and P10 with his fastest time which set the grid for race three on Sunday.

  • The opening race of the weekend would see Kanato lose a position amidst the closely-knit racing action to claim P9 at the fall of the chequered flag.

  • In the reverse grid race that followed on Saturday afternoon, Kanato would start P10 and move up to P7 in the opening stages, before contact with another competitor would cause a spin and he ultimately would fall to P16 before recovering to P14 at the fall of the chequered flag.

  • For the final race of the weekend, Kanato would start from P10 and looked to finish the weekend on a high as he set about climbing up the order to collect as many points as possible.

  • After a close battle amongst his rivals, Kanato would round out the weekend with a P6 finish to leave Croft with a positive brace of points finishes under his belt.

  • Coming away from Croft, Kanato now sits P6 in the drivers' championship on 154 points.

  • Next up for the young racer is a trip to Scotland and the undulating Knockhill Circuit on the 12-13 August.

"It was a hard weekend at Croft, and despite two points finishes, it's unfortunate that we didn't have the pace to compete at the front. Nonetheless, we have valuable lessons to carry forward and improve upon before the upcoming event at Knockhill in two weeks. Our determination to fight for the championship remains strong, and I extend a huge thank you to everyone involved and we'll continue pushing forward!"
