Charlie Martin geared up for Zandvoort

Charlie Martin is looking forward to the third round of the ADAC GT4 Germany championship at Zandvoort this weekend, as she makes her first appearance at the legendary track.

Fresh from her podium-scoring weekend in the Britcar Endurance championship, Charlie heads to the Netherlands full of confidence and aims to continue the strong start she enjoyed to the season she enjoyed at Oschersleben in May.

Making their debut in the series that weekend, Charlie and Team Driverse claimed an emphatic maiden class podium. Since then, the team have also claimed further fourth and fifth place finishes at the most recent round at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.

Stepping back into the team’s BMW M4 GT4 this weekend, Charlie will race at the 2.646-mile Zandvoort circuit for the very first time. Located in the dunes just north of the coastal town of Zandvoort, the 14-turn track boasts a history that rivals the likes of Silverstone and Monza.

Home of the Dutch Grand Prix, the circuit is a rollercoaster of fast, sweeping and undulating corners coupled with an 18º banking and an elevation change of almost eight metres.

“I’m really looking forward to this weekend,” Charlie said. “Zandvoort is a track I’ve always wanted to race at - I feel I know it quite well from some good results in sim racing so I’m excited to have the chance to get on track for real! I cannot wait to be reunited with Sandra and the rest of the team too, it’s been a while since Oschersleben. The team did a great job in Austria and we’re all looking ahead to some exciting racing this weekend!”

A busy weekend with two races will begin on Friday with the first track action in the form of two Free Practice sessions at 08:20 local time (07:20 BST) and 14:15 (13:15) respectively. Saturday then sees Qualifying take place at 09:35 (08:35) followed by the first race of the weekend at 13:40 (12:40). Returning on Sunday, the second Qualifying session begins at 11:00 (10:00) with the second and final race closing the weekend at 14:40 (13:40).
