YAS MARINA CIRCUIT
FORMULA 4 UAE CHAMPIONSHIP - ROUND FIVE
18-19 FEBRUARY 2023
Kanato Le completed his maiden F4 UAE campaign at Yas Marina Circuit on the weekend.
The weekend was kickstarted with another strong showing in Friday's qualifying sessions where he secured an impressive P7 in qualifying one and P13 in qualifying two respectively.
For race one on Saturday morning, Kanato once again battled hard amongst the leading pack and would cross the line in P6 at the flag. However, a post-race time penalty would see him drop to P12.
Starting from P20 in race two, Kanato started the race strongly and was climbing up through the field before an extended safety car period halted his progress, resulting in a P15 finish.
For the final race of the weekend, an unfortunate racing incident would result in Kanato falling to P29 at the chequered flag.
After the weekend's racing Kanato would claim P17 in the overall standings and P7 in the rookie championship.
Kanato's debut F4 season will now continue in April with the opening round of the British F4 Championship at Donington Park.
"Not quite the weekend we hoped to end the championship on but it has been an incredible experience in the F4 UAE Championship this season. I've been able to gain some valuable experience with the incredible support of the team at Hitech GP with each race completed. Now all the focus switches to the start of the British F4 season in April where I will be looking to put everything learnt into practice and kickstart the season on a high!"
