Hawkey battles at Portimão



PORTIMAO - ROUND ONE | 29 APR - 1 MAY

  • The 2022 DTM championship got underway at Portimao circuit in Portugal

  • Esmee returns to the series for a second campaign with T3 Motorsport

  • Despite little pre-season preparation time compared to her rivals, the Brit impressed throughout the weekend in her Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo

  • The 24-year-old made strong progress throughout the weekend, utilising track time to good effect

  • Qualifying P27 for the first race on Saturday, Esmee was unfortunately forced to retire due to damage sustained in a rear-end collision

  • She then qualified P28 for Sunday's race and made steady progress to record a P21 finish at the chequered flag

  • With a good base to build upon, Esmee's next outing takes her to Lausitzring on 20-22 May

“Overall, I'm pleased with the progress we've made this weekend. Coming into the weekend with less preparation than I would've liked always meant it was going to be challenging but I think we've had a productive weekend with lots learnt and that will move us forward for the rest of the season. Thanks to all of the team for their hard work as always."
