JEDDAH CORNICE CIRCUIT - ROUND TWO | 25-27 MARCH
The FIA Formula 2 championship travelled to Jeddah for round two of the season
Another top-ten qualifying performance from Jake rewarded him with P2 on the Sprint race grid and P9 on the Feature race grid
In the Sprint Race on Saturday, Jake gambled to race the soft tyre and ran inside the top-three for the duration of the race, taking the lead with a decisive move into turn one
Jake took the chequered flag in P3 but was ultimately disqualified from the race after the wooden skid of his car was found to be 0.4mm too thin
The Brit started Sunday's Feature race from P9 on the grid and quickly set about moving up the order
Pitting on lap eight, Jake utilised the tyre strategy to climb the order and made a series of passes
Jake finished the race in fourth place, adding another 12 points to his championship tally
The series now heads to Imola on 22-24 April
JAKE'S RACE REVIEW
“We showed really good pace all weekend long and made the most of the opportunities we had. It was unlucky to be excluded from the Sprint race but rules are rules and we will learn from this as a team. For the Feature race, I knew we had a good car to work with so it was just a case of staying out of trouble and working with the tyres and strategy. To be fighting for podiums and strong points this early on is a really positive sign for myself and the team and I'm looking forward to carrying this momentum forward to Imola."
