HUNGARORING - HIGHLIGHTS & FACTS
Jake Hughes was announced as a late substitution for Carlin Buzz Racing at the Hungaroring
The Brit stepped into a car for the first time since his FIA F2 debut in September last year
After 10 months out of the cockpit, Jake looked forward to getting out on track
He impressed on Friday afternoon with P7 in Free Practice followed by P17 in Qualifying
At a track notoriously difficult for overtaking, Jake battled his way to P16 in Saturday’s opening race and P17 in the second race
Returning on Sunday, Jake then performed admirably in the wet weather conditions to record his best result of the weekend in P13
JAKE’S WEEKEND REVIEW
“Firstly I’d like to say a huge thank you to Trevor and all of the Carlin team for asking me to step into the car this weekend. After a few months out of the cockpit it was always going to be tough to jump straight back in but overall I think we can be pleased with how we performed.
Ultimately, I hope I’ve done my best to help the team learn as much as they can with the car to keep pushing forwards over the coming races. Finally, I wish Kaylen all the best with his recovery and look forward to seeing him back in the car at Spa-Francorchamps.”
