Jake Hill looking to carry momentum into Thruxton

Jake Hill and his Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport team will head to Thruxton this week looking to build on the double podium finish from the previous round as they get set to contest round four of the 2023 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship campaign.

Boasting the highest average speed of any circuit visited by the BTCC, Thruxton is a real test as the drivers control their cars on a knife edge throughout the 2.36-mile circuit.

Jake Hill heads to the Hampshire circuit off the back of a strong points-scoring weekend at Snetterton, in round three, which saw a brace of second-place finishes followed by a third top-ten result in race three. Across the weekend, Jake collected 40 points to mark his best round so far in 2023.

Thruxton has been a happy hunting ground for Jake and MB Motorsport in recent years, with the previous nine races at the circuit resulting in five trips to the podium and a healthy collection of points.

Jake, in his WSR-run BMW 330e M Sport, currently sits tied for 4th in the Drivers' Championship with 98 points with seven rounds and 21 races still left to contest.

The action on track will begin on Saturday with a pair of free practice sessions being followed by qualifying taking place later that day at 15:25 (BST). For this weekend, qualifying remains as the previous 30-minute timed session to set the grid for the opening race, with Jake's hybrid allowing him 7 Secs (per lap) in qualifying and four laps of hybrid use through race one - with the results of race one and two setting the hybrid allowance for the following race.

Qualifying can be watched live on YouTube; with all three races taking place on Sunday, available live on ITV4 and online at ITVX. The races are scheduled for 11:45 (BST), 14:35, and 17:20 respectively. Live timing across the weekend is available here.

"Heading to Thruxton this week, we are all extremely motivated to kick on and continue building on our positive start to the season. Snetterton was our best weekend of the season so far and lays a great foundation for us to build on as we head into round four. The last few trips to Thruxton have been successful and I really enjoy the challenge of driving the circuit, it's certainly not for the faint-hearted! The goal this weekend is to score as many points as possible and to cut the gap in the Drivers' Championship." - Jake Hill, #24 Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport BMW 330e M Sport
