Jake's home race weekend saw the FIA Formula 2 championship host round seven of the year at Silverstone
A difficult start to the weekend saw Jake qualify in 14th place in Friday's session
Saturday's Sprint Race got underway behind the safety car due to the wet surface
When the race went green in wet conditions, Jake progressed forward to P12 but unfortunately slipped back down the order to the back of the field
Determined to bounce back, Jake pushed his way back up the order to finish the race in P11
Starting in P14 for Sunday's Feature Race - Jake ran long on his hard tyres and pitted from P2 with a handful of laps remaining
Rejoining down the order but on fresher tyres, Jake delivered rapid lap times and overtakes to navigate his way through the order and into the points
Taking the checkered flag from P10, Jake recorded a point finish and now sits 16th in the Drivers' Championship with 16 points
Back-to-back race weekends take Jake and the F2 paddock to the Red Bull Ring, Austria (8 - 10 July)
"It's always special racing at home and this weekend was no different. It would have been nice to have finished with a few more points on the board but comparing where we were on Friday to Sunday shows that we are heading in the right direction. It's now two feature races in a row in the points for myself and Van Amersfoort Racing - so that is great progress and we will be looking to make it three in a row this weekend in Austria!"
