Jordan Love finishes fifth at the 24 Hours of Spa

Mercedes-AMG Junior Driver, Jordan Love, and his #79 Mercedes-AMG GT3 team claimed a fifth-place finish in the highly competitive Bronze Cup at the legendary 24 Hours of Spa alongside his Haupt Racing Team teammates Hubert Haupt, Arjun Maini and Sébastien Baud. Jordan and the team's week at Spa-Francorchamps got off to a tough start when the Mercedes-AMG GT3 #79 suffered damage in the turbulent qualifying on Thursday evening when the car went off the rain-soaked track and was heavily damaged. However, the time set in qualifying was enough for the Superpole the following day and the team managed to repair the red Mercedes-AMG GT3 overnight and thus start in Superpole - where Jordan's teammate Arjun Maini qualified 18th. At the start of the 24-hour race, the #79 initially dropped back slightly in the overall standings after an early Full Course Yellow did not play into the team's hands. However, the team fought its way back to the top of its class over the course of the race and crossed the finish line in a respectable fifth position in the Bronze Cup after 533 laps. With Jordan's help, the team scored valuable points for the championship in the Endurance Cup of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe, where Haupt Racing Team now occupies second place in the Bronze Cup championship standings after this weekend. Next up for Jordan is the fifth round of the GT World Challenge Europe Fanatec Sprint Cup at Misano, Italy, on the 15 - 16 July.

"The 24 Hours of Spa is always challenging but we made it to the finish. We were pretty tested and had to keep catching up. To finish in the top 5 in class is a good result. But we know that more would have been possible. It just wasn't our race. We made the best of the circumstances. I can't thank Mercedes-AMG and the Haupt Racing team enough for this programme."

- Jordan Love, Haupt Racing Team #79
