Kanato Le battles hard at F4 UAE season opener

  • Young Japanese racer Kanato Le opened his rookie campaign in the Formula 4 UAE Championship at Dubai Autodrome this weekend.

  • The weekend started with Kanato securing P13 in qualifying in a highly competitive session.

  • The 15-year-old finished the opening race in P13 after a long safety car period towards the end of the race only allowed for several green flag laps of racing.

  • Kanato started P23 for Race Two and climbed up through the field to finish P16 at the chequered flag.

  • Starting in P15 for the final race of the day, Kanato once again fought valiantly and would bring the car home in P14 to round out the weekend.

  • Kanato's debut season continues at Kuwait Motor Town for round two of the championship on January 27 - 28.

"To get the season underway this weekend was a great experience and it allowed me to gain valuable knowledge in the process. With each passing race I was able to learn a lot of things and understood the setup even more which helped me as the weekend progressed. All the focus is on Kuwait next week and I'm looking forward to getting back out on track once more!"
