ROKiT BRITISH FORMULA 4 CHAMPIONSHIP - ROUND EIGHT
12-13 AUGUST 2023
Kanato Le claimed another podium at Knockhill in round eight of the ROKiT British F4 Championship to move himself up to 5th in the championship standings.
In the opening track action on Saturday morning, Kanato would qualify P5 with his fastest time of the session, before securing P8 with his second fastest time, setting the grid for the racing action that was to follow.
The opening race of the weekend would see Kanato battling amongst his competitors, and looking to make up ground, he would look to make the most of the space available heading into the hairpin, however a fellow competitor would move across and make contact, and this would see Kanato damage his front wing, forcing him to pit for repairs.
He would ultimately rejoin the race to take P15 at the chequered flag.
In the reverse grid race that followed on Sunday morning, Kanato would start from P14 on the grid, but encountered difficulty at the start causing him to drop down the order.
Undeterred, Kanato would showcase his stellar speed in the car to make up 9 positions by the chequered flag to claim a thoroughly deserved P10 finish.
The final racing action of the weekend, taking place on Sunday afternoon, Kanato would start strongly from P5 to place himself firmly amongst the leading pack.
After a close battle amongst his rivals, Kanato would make up several places with well crafted overtakes to claim a P3 finish to round out the weekend on a high.
Leaving Knockhill, Kanato moves up to P5 in the drivers' standings on 173 points.
Next up for the young racer is a return to Donington Park and the GP layout, which Kanato will be competing on for the first time on the 26-27 August.
"A weekend full of ups and downs at Knockhill, where we didn't quite get the results we were really after. It was great to get back on the podium and come away from the weekend on a high! A massive thanks to everyone as ever for their continued support and we go again at Donington in two weeks time."
