Martin set for ADAC GT4 Germany debut with Team Driverse

Charlie Martin will make her debut in the ADAC GT4 Germany series this weekend with the pioneering Team Driverse outfit.

Taking the wheel of the team’s brand-new BMW M4 GT4, Charlie will contest the series alongside Sandra van der Sloot across some of Europe’s most famous circuits including the Nürburgring, Hockenheim and Zandvoort.

Team Driverse is a new initiative designed to promote greater inclusivity within motorsport, offering new opportunities for people of all identities and from the most diverse backgrounds.

Making their on-track debut this weekend, Charlie and the team aim to promote further opportunity for women in motorsport, particularly in STEM roles.

Racing at the 3.69km Oschersleben circuit, the team will take part in two qualifying sessions and two races across the weekend. A fast, flowing circuit, remaining consistently quick at Oschersleben can be a challenge for drivers as they strive to find the perfect rhythm.

Excited to make her debut in the series whilst continuing to champion a cause close to her heart, Charlie can’t wait to get the weekend underway.

“We’ve worked very hard behind the scenes to reach this point so I can’t believe the moment is finally here,” Charlie said. “I’m proud of the team and what we’re setting out to do. I really believe we can show that women have a place in motorsport and I hope our journey motivates people to pursue their ambitions.

“Oschersleben is a really unique track to drive and I enjoyed it throughout our testing programme so I’m looking forward to getting out there in racing conditions. Between Sandra and I, I think we’re in a good place heading into the weekend.”

Charlie’s weekend will begin with two Free Practice sessions on Friday, at 09:00 local time (08:00 BST) and 14:30 (13:30 BST) respectively. Qualifying for the first race of the weekend will begin at 09:35 (08:35 BST) on Saturday morning with the race following later in the day at 13:40 (12:40 BST). Returning on Sunday, the second Qualifying session is scheduled for 09:00 (08:00 BST) with the second and final race of the weekend at 12:40 (11:40 BST).

Every session will be available to view live on the ADAC website.
