Charlie Martin kickstarted her maiden Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe campaign strongly with a class podium and points haul at Circuit Paul Ricard on the weekend
Behind the wheel of their Lamborghini Super Trofeo Evo 2 run by Brutal Fish Racing, Charlie and teammate Jason Keats, started the weekend strongly with two qualifying sessions on Saturday morning to claim P3 and P8 respectively.
Starting P3 for the first race of the weekend, Charlie would unfortunately make contact with another competitor and be forced into a spin, dropping to P4 before handing driving duties over to Jason who would take the chequered flag in P6 to begin the weekends' racing action with a points haul.
After the strong performance in race one, Jason would take the green flag for the final race of the weekend as the pair looked to continue the momentum.
A well-executed opening stint from Jason would see the pair sitting in P6 when the time came for the required driver change and pit stop with Charlie getting back behind the wheel.
Charlie's stint would see her gain multiple positions as she battled hard with the competitors around her, rising to P3 by the start of the final lap.
On the final lap, Charlie would execute a brilliant overtake to claim P2 at turn 11, a fantastic effort and with it securing a well deserved podium for the team.
Next up for the pair is round two of the championship at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.
