Charlie Martin was out on track at Watkins Glen for the third round of the 2022 Lamborghini Super Trofeo NA championship
The Brit took an excellent pole position in her qualifying session, securing a P1 in class starting position for race one with teammate Jason Keats securing a fifth-place starting place for race two
Charlie and Jason led their class in race one from start to finish but were unfortunately hit with a penalty for a pitstop that was 0.4-seconds too fast
This penalty meant they were moved to P2 after the chequered flag but still picked up their best finish of the season
In the second race of the weekend, Charlie and Jason finished where they started as they collected a fifth-place finish in class to round off a strong weekend in New York
Leaving Watkins Glen, Charlie occupies fourth place in the standings with 48 points
Charlie's next outing will take her to Road America on the weekend of 5 - 7 August
“I'm really pleased with how our weekend at Watkins Glen went. Pole position, a podium finish, and fantastic pace all around. In race one, we led our class from start to finish, only a penalty for a pitstop that was 0.4sec too fast saw us moved to P2 after the chequered flag - but we were both stoked to get our best finish yet in Lamborghini Super Trofeo! It was so hot in the car but we both pushed through to get on the podium. P5 in race two was a solid result to end the weekend, now we are fully focussed on continuing the form into Road America at the start of August."
