ROKiT and Esmee Hawkey drive forward DTM journey in 2022

The ROKiT Group is delighted to be extending its successful partnership with DTM star Esmee Hawkey as the 23-year-old British driver returns to the elite GT3 racing series in 2022 with T3 Motorsport, incorporating a revamped ABK Beer-inspired livery.

In an excellent debut campaign in 2021 made possible through ROKiT, Esmee enjoyed her first taste of GT3 machinery at the wheel of the ROKiT & ABK Beer-liveried T3 Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo. In doing so, Esmee signed her name in the record books in the process as one of the few women to score points in the championship’s history.

An extremely positive maiden season in the DTM championship saw Esmee get off to a blistering start in Monza, as she out-qualified some of motorsport's biggest names despite her lack of experience and having never driven at any of the circuits on the calendar before in a GT3 car.

Going from strength to strength throughout the year, Esmee's hard work and perseverance were rewarded at her 'home race' in Assen as she scored her first DTM points.

Building on her experience in the series in 2021, Esmee returns to the championship for a second year with T3 Motorsport, building on her winning partnership with ROKiT & ABK Beer. One of the oldest breweries in the world with over 700 years of German brewing history, located in Kaufbeuren, Bavaria, the partnership strengthens ABK Beer’s connection with one of Germany’s most iconic sporting championships.

In a 16-race calendar, the series will visit eight circuits across Europe, including Portimao in Portugal for the very first alongside visiting renowned circuits such as Imola, Nurburgring, and a much-anticipated return to Spa-Francorchamps.

A next-generation global media company with a proven track record in supporting talent and diversity across all their work, ROKiT have taken the world by storm and have active engagements across a wide spectrum of business sectors including sport, television, films, music, drinks, smartphones, eBikes and Wi-Fi technology.

Jonathan Kendrick, Chairman of the ROKiT Group of Companies:

“We very much look forward to advancing our work with Esmee in the DTM championship. ROKiT and ABK Beer were proud to partner with Esmee as she made a huge step last year and we are delighted to be helping to drive forward the next step in her journey. The DTM championship is one of the biggest race series in the world and I’m sure this season will live up to expectation.”

Eager to get out on track, Esmee looks forward to building on a positive foundation built last year with T3 Motorsport and is excited to take to the track in her revamped ABK Beer-inspired livery.

“I’m over the moon to be returning to the DTM series this year,” Esmee said. “I loved every second of it in 2021 - my first year in GT3 machinery and my first time at many international circuits. I’m so proud to be a part of the ROKiT and ABK Beer family and cannot wait to represent them on and off the track again this year. My sincere thanks goes to Jonathan Kendrick and everyone at The ROKiT Group.

“I learnt an awful lot with the team at T3 Motorsport and I’m looking forward to taking that experience and building upon it this year. We achieved some great things together in 2021 so it’s brilliant that we’ll have the opportunity to grow that further.”

Mark Blundell, CEO of MB Partners, added:

“Esmee has continuously proven her abilities in everything she has raced. She is fully deserving of this exciting opportunity to build on the excellent impression she made in the DTM last year. Her undeniable talent combined with ROKiT and ABK Beer’s record of supporting youth and diversity is an exciting prospect for the championship.”

Stefan Jugel, Managing Director of T3 Motorsport:

“We’re very excited to welcome Esmee back to the team in 2022. Our ethos at T3 Motorsport is to harness the potential of motorsport’s next generation, of which Esmee is at the very forefront of. Her performances last year were nothing short of excellent and, with the knowledge and experience of that under her belt, we look forward to taking another step forward in the series together this year.”
