Japanese racer Kanato Le showcased excellent pace at Knockhill Racing Circuit as his debut Ginetta Junior Championship campaign continued
In a qualifying session disrupted by numerous red flags, Kanato earned a P13 starting position for Race One, with his second fastest lap giving him a P10 start for Race Two
Despite the race being interrupted by numerous safety cars, Kanato showed excellent pace and some skilful overtaking to make his way back through in race one to record a P9 finish
The second race of the weekend saw Kanato get caught up in an incident in front. Getting his head down, Kanato recovered strongly to a P13 finish claiming the fastest rookie lap of the race and the second fastest lap overall
Again, the final race of the weekend saw Kanato make progress from his P13 starting position to cross the line in P11 and, again, record the fastest rookie lap of the race
This weekend's showing sees Kanato remain 8th in the Drivers' Championship with 159 points - with Kanato occupying 3rd in the Rookie Cup
The Japanese racer is straight back in action in a fortnight's time, as the Ginetta Junior Championship heads to Snetterton, Norfolk between the 12th and 14th of August
“It's been a great experience racing at Knockhill this weekend which is a brilliant circuit to drive. We've shown fantastic pace all weekend which I am really happy about and I think we are in a good place for some strong results at Snetterton in two weeks' time. I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Elite Motorsport, MB Partners, Elliot Harvey & Jake Hill for all of their help this weekend. I can't wait to get back out there at Snetterton and be fighting for the podium once again."
