Tom Blomqvist heads to Italy for Rome E-Prix

As the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship travels to Italy for the Rome E-Prix double-header, Tom Blomqvist is looking forward to getting back in the car with the NIO 333 FE Team.

A positive start in Diriyah saw the team score their first points of the season, with strong performances from Tom curtailed by poor luck across the weekend. Both Tom and team look to build on their momentum in Rome.

Rescheduled as another double-header of events, the Rome E-Prix takes place around the tight and twisting Circuito cittadino dell'EUR in the city centre. One of the longest circuits on the calendar at 3.385km, the circuit has undergone small changes ahead of this year’s event to extend the length and speed of the straights.

Returning to Europe, the first Free Practice session takes place early on Saturday morning at 07:00 BST. The second Free Practice session then follows at 09:15 BST with Qualifying taking place from 11:00 BST. The first E-Prix of the weekend is then scheduled to start at 15:00 BST, with coverage of this race live on BBC Two in the United Kingdom.

Continuing on Sunday, the final Free Practice session at 06:00 BST precedes Qualifying for the second race at 08:00 BST. Round Four of the championship will then get underway at midday.

Live coverage of the series continues this weekend, with Saturday & Sunday’s Free Practice & Qualifying sessions streamed live across the BBC - on BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website and the BBC Red Button. Furthermore, the first race of the weekend will be broadcast live on BBC Two and BBC Two HD on Saturday afternoon with Sunday’s race streamed live across the BBC’s digital network.

FANBOOST will be in action once again with voting for the first race opening at midday on Wednesday 7th April. You can once again offer your support for Tom and vote to give him an extra power boost here.

“I’m excited to be heading to Rome this weekend,” Tom said. “As a team we had a really positive start to the season in Diriyah, even though it didn’t go to plan on my side of the garage. However, we showed what we were capable of so I’m looking forward to getting back out on track and pushing for the results we deserve. I’ve raced here once before and enjoyed the track and can’t wait to see what the weekend brings us.”
