Preview: 31 Jul - 2 Aug 2020
This weekend will prove a busy one for MB Partners’ talent portfolio as Callum Ilott and Jake Hughes head to Silverstone for the fourth round of the FIA Formula Two and FIA Formula Three championships respectively whilst young guns Kiern Jewiss and Louis Foster begin their delayed seasons in BRDC British F3 at Oulton Park.

Callum Ilott - FIA Formula Two, Round Four, Great Britain
Following a scintillating weekend in Budapest where Callum decimated a 34-second gap to Luca Ghiotto to come within just 0.423s of the win, the 21-year-old heads home to Silverstone with full confidence of another strong weekend to come.
Currently occupying second place in the drivers’ championship, Callum has been in excellent form so far in 2020 and is primed to keep the momentum going on home soil.
“We had a brilliant sprint race in Budapest, not often do you have to pit in them so it was an unknown but to chase down Luca like that was really fun. We might not have got the win but that’s buoyed us with confidence that we can go one better this weekend. I enjoy Silverstone and it’s my home race so a strong result here would be amazing.”

Jake Hughes - FIA Formula Three, Round Four, Great Britain
It was yet another case of what might’ve been for Jake in Budapest, with punctures and wet weather playing havoc. Relaxed and rested, Jake returns to the UK with an optimistic view to finally getting his season going as he would like.
With a points finish at last year’s event and a podium finish in European F3 in 2017, Jake knows what it takes to succeed around the Northamptonshire circuit.
“Budapest didn’t go quite according to plan but we did show some great pace which we’ll be looking to replicate this weekend. I was in the sim last week so I’m fully prepared for the weekend, plus it’s nice to be back on home soil for a few weeks.”
“Hopefully we can score some good results and get the year going in the direction our efforts deserve.”

Kiern Jewiss - BRDC British F3, Round One, Oulton Park
It’s been a long wait for Kiern to begin his sophomore year in the BRDC British F3 Championship but he does just that at Oulton Park this weekend. After a sublime debut campaign in 2019, Kiern is aiming to go one step better and launch a championship assault for 2020.
After using the extended break to good use, the front-runner is in high spirits as he heads to the Cheshire track.
“It feels great to be finally getting going again. Of course, there have been plenty of changes with the new car but I took a lot from my experiences in the Championship last year and am hoping to see the benefit of that this time around.”
“We saw how intense the competition was last season and it is going to be no different this time around. Pre-season has been really productive and we’re hoping that we can take that into this weekend and get off to a good start which is going to be so important with the new calendar.”

Louis Foster - BRDC British F3, Round One, Oulton Park
Having been prepped and ready since March, Louis Foster is raring to go as he makes his debut in the BRDC British F3 championship this season.
After taking the British F4 championship by storm last year, Louis remains with Double R Racing as he climbs another step up the racing ladder. Spurred on by a promising pre-season regime, Louis is brimming with confidence ahead of the weekend.
“After a long wait, it feels great that my BRDC British F3 debut is just around the corner. I feel like I’ve gotten to grips with the car and pre-season has been really positive. We know the strength of the grid is a step-up on last year and last year there was very little separating the entire field in British F3 - I’m sure that this year will be no different.”
