Tatiana Calderón returns to IMSA and the 24 Hours of Daytona

Date:
December 6, 2023

Tatiana Calderón will make her return to the prestigious IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Rolex 24 at Daytona as she joins Gradient Racing in 2024.

The Colombian driver will team up with her fellow female racers Katherine Legge and Sheena Monk as she tackles the full five-race Michelin Endurance Cup schedule aboard Gradient Racing’s Acura NSX GT3 Evo, beginning with her first trip to Daytona since 2020.

She will then make her debut in the world-famous Sebring 12 Hours in March before tackling the Six Hours of Watkins Glen, the ‘Battle on the Bricks’ on the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course and the season-closing Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.

For Tatiana, the announcement marks a welcome return to the American racing scene following her IndyCar campaign with A.J. Foyt Racing in 2022. It will be her first time racing GT3 machinery since her one and only IMSA start so far in the 2020 Rolex 24, where she shared a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo with Katherine  Legge, Rahel Frey and Christina Nielsen.

Having been impressed on her first visit to the biggest endurance race in the United States nearly four years ago, Tatiana is fully motivated to make her return to IMSA competition as she prepares for the mandatory ‘Roar Before the 24’ pre-event test on January 19-21, before the Rolex 24 race week itself on January 25-28.

British racer Stevan McAleer will serve as the fourth driver for Gradient Racing during the twice-around-the-clock Florida classic.

Tatiana Calderón: “I’m super thankful to the whole Gradient Racing team for this opportunity. I’m very excited to team up with Sheena, Katherine and Stevan for the Rolex 24 at Daytona! I have competed at Daytona once and I loved the atmosphere and competitive spirit of this incredible race. The team did a great job last year and I hope we can build on it to hopefully be on the podium. I’m really looking forward to sharing the car with them and getting familiarized with everyone as soon as possible. I can’t wait to get started!”
